چکیده

Abstract To confront climate change, decarbonization strategies must change the global economy. According to statements made as part of European Green Deal, maritime transport should also become drastically less polluting. As a result, price reflect impact it has on environment and health. In such framework, purpose this paper is suggest novel method for minimizing emissions from ships, based so-called Pareto multi-objective optimization. For given voyage by ship, problem minimize one hand fuel consumption or passage time other. Minimizing considered preferred objective. Therefore, objective needs be reformulated constraint. Solving consists finding most favourable path speed ship satisfying optimization criteria. Relatively new systems hybrid diesel–electric have potential offer significant benefits. A power supply utilizes maximum efficiency direct mechanical drive flexibility combination combustion prime mover stored energy storage an electrical supply, at load overload. report American Bureau Shipping suggests that likely meet International Maritime Organization’s target 2030, solely using current technology operational measures. However, would not enough attain reducing CO2 2050 least 50% compared 2008. New technologies methods applied.

Waste Management Multi-Objective Optimization for Greenhouse Gases Emissions Control

This paper presents the methodology that has been followed and the results that came up from the elaboration of an EC co-financed LIFE+ project in Greece (LIFE09/ENV/GR/294). The objective of the project is to develop a software tool that enables Waste Management Authorities and other stakeholders to substantially reduce GHG emissions resulting from their waste management (WM) activities. The t...

Accounting for Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm Optimization of Water Distribution Systems

Considerable research has been carried out on the optimization of water distribution systems (WDSs) over the last three decades. In previous research, attention has mainly focused on the minimization of cost, due to the high expenditure associated with the construction and maintenance of such systems. However, the impacts of WDSs on the environment usually have not been considered adequately. T...

Greenhouse gas emissions from rice

Rice provides the staple food for over 60% of the world’s population. Globally 80% of rice is grown by small farmers in low income and developing nations, and in India rice farming is a key source of employment for the 60% of Indian workers still dependent on agriculture for work. Yet rice production is also an important source of greenhouse gas emissions, for example responsible for between 3 ...

Modeling and Optimization of Energy Inputs and Greenhouse Gas Emissions for Eggplant Production Using Artificial Neural Network and Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm

This paper studies the modeling and optimization of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions of eggplant production using artificial neural network and multi-objective genetic algorithm in Guilan province of Iran. Results showed that the highest share of energy consumption belongs to diesel fuel (49.24%); followed by nitrogen (33.30%). The results indicated that a total energy input of 13910.67 ...
